The Lambrusco Salamino di Santa Croce has been named after an unincorporated hamlet administered by Carpi, from whence it most likely began its spread to other areas back in ancient times.
The principal characteristic of this zone is the richness of the subsoil which owes its unique conformation to the waterways that used to flow over its, depositing sand, lime and clay in their beds.
Our soil is in fact characterized by the strong presence of gray clay which reaches seven meters depth.
This feature in combination with the favorable climate and our experience in harmony with nature and its balance confer a particular vigor to serve the vineyard without chemical or natural fertilizers.
